Stainless Flanges

Stainless flanges are being made of Stainless steel. In stainless steel there are hundreds of grades or we can simply put into categories like Austentic Stainless Steel which is very widely used in Stainless Flange as MOC (Material of Construction), Ferritic Stainless Steel and Martesitic Stainless Steel.

Grades of Stainless Flanges

There are 100s of grades avaialble in stainless steel and same for stainless steel flanges as well. But there are certain few stainless steel grades which are very regular in demand and rest are very ocesionally required on specific project requirement only.

Worldwide stainless steel flanges are identified as per ASTM standard and for stainless steel flanges specific there is a regular or common standard i.e ASTM A182.

Stainless Flanges manufacturing process

Stainless Flanges are being manufactured from stainless billets. This is the basic raw material for stainless steel flanges. Normally stainless steel flanges are being manufactured throght hot forging work because no metal is being given shape without forging or casting at least in the case of flanges.

Stainless flanges are being manufactured either by open die forging work or close die forging work. Stainless Steel mechanical or physical properties gets changed once it is either forged or even drawn. But after forging there is advantage of strgnth and that is why forged stainless flanges never being solution anealed as like what in the matter of fasteners and bright bars process.
